Although Egypt is not considered one of the world's major oil producing countries, it has proven oil reserves of over 6 billion barrels and brings in half the country's export revenue with an annual production of about 300 million barrels. Natural gas, phosphate, iron ore, salt and uranium are also mined in Egypt.
