Although Kuwait is an oil-producing country with arid soil, no rivers, scarce water, and harsh weather, it managed to cultivate and produce good crops, which in particular periods of the year exceeds the local needs and tey are exported to various Arab countries.

Having achieved this success, the Agriculture Administration was in 1984 transferred into an independent entity under the name of "The Public Authority for Agriculture and Fish Resources Affairs". Since then, it became responsible for designing and implementing the public agricultural policy in its all aspects including protected agricultural houses, methods of cultivation, modern methods of irrigation in fields agriculture, protected cultivation and beautifying and forestation.
